Our interns are very grateful to the donors who allow them to receive a stipend for their internships at the American Journalism Center. This is what they have said:

Video message from the AJC class of 2008

“Thank you so much for allowing AIM to make this a paid internship. Financially I could not have afforded this great internship opportunity in DC without a paid internship. I know that my internship with AIM, with the help of your generous donations, will set me on the career path I want to pursue in journalism, particularly in the non-profit sector. Interning at AIM helped me understand how a non-profit organization works and made me realize that for me, a career in the non-profit sector would be the most rewarding personally. Thank you!”

Chenoa McKnight, Brigham Young University, Spring 2006

“My time as an Intern here at Accuracy In Media has been unforgettable! I learned and experienced so much that I know I will be able to draw from in the future. The stipend provided by Accuracy In Media is more than generous! It enabled me to have a great time this summer and not stress over finances. Thank you for your donations to this wonderful organization and for your support of me during my time here.”

Charlie Floyd, Kennesaw State University, Summer 2006

“Thank you so much for your donations to Accuracy in Media. It was wonderful to receive a stipend for my internship, and honestly, I think receiving that stipend encouraged me to work even more diligently. I have had a truly invaluable experience with my internship at AIM in so many ways, and receiving my stipend only added to that experience. Thank you so much again!”

Elizabeth Young, University of California, Santa Barbara, Summer 2006

“The stipend is definitely appreciated. It allowed me to intern at AIM and work less at my other job. Essentially, it made this valuable experience possible. I would definitely recommend AIM to anyone looking for a productive and fun internship.”

Scott Whitlock, George Mason University, Fall 2005

“Thank you very much for allowing Accuracy in Media to provide me with a stipend. While I was here for the experience, the stipend presented me with proof that my work here was appreciated. Thanks again.”

Jacqueline Merzer, University of Pennsylvania, Summer 2006

“Thank you very much for providing the generous stipend. This money enabled me to ride the metro to and from work everyday, and to attend various events. It was helpful to have a little extra money to pay for necessities, such as food, groceries, toiletries, clothes, etc. Thanks again!”

Katherine Duncan, Augsburg College, Summer 2006

“Thank you for your support and giving me the opportunity to be able to live and work in D.C. while doing my internship. The stipend really allowed me to manage the cost of city living much better than taking out a loan or finding other means to pay for my living expenses.”

Trevor Hayes, Northwest Missouri State University, Summer 2006
